I was doing a hodge podge of workouts and decided to start the<a href="http://www.gettingstrongnow.com/insanity-workout-review/"> Insanity Workout</a> all over again which I did&#8230; for a week&#8230;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not that I wanted to stop, I was super pumped to get back into it. Of course I had to go and get sick and have a sinus infection for a week&#8230; then we had to drive 6 hours to see a dying relative&#8230; then it was just this and that. I know I know&#8230; no excuses, but it threw off my game big time.</p>
<p>It has been hard to find motivation this summer, but it comes and goes. This week I decided to give Chalean Extreme a shot. I just wanted something new to try and I knew I just don&#8217;t have the motivation to jump back into Insanity right now. I have done burn circuit 1 &amp; 2 this week and I have to say I am pretty sore in my legs. The workouts were 37 and 39 minutes long, so I was in and out. Tomorrow is the cardio and abs which will prob push over an hour, but it is something new and I am doing it so that is a good thing. My goal is to maybe bounce around with this for a few weeks then get back on the <strong>Insanity Workout</strong> wagon.</p>
<p>One thing I can say for Insanity is that it turns your body into a machine. My diet has been really bad the last part of the summer with vacation and short trips here and there. It was hard finding a clean eating routine when you are out and about. I have def got a little more jiggle then before, but the definition in my abs is still there. I never had those lines in my upper abs until insanity and that is just great that they are still there.  That 60 days can carry your body a long way&#8230;. just imagine if I had done the 2nd cycle of Insanity wow!!</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve tried the easier workouts but my problem was I seemed to have reached a plateau and I&#8217;d been having problems trying to break through to the next level. After searching around I came across Chalene&#8217;s Extreme Workout. I thought maybe this is what I needed to take me to the next level and break through my plateau. Although the word &#8220;extreme&#8221; has habit of scaring the heck out of me I decided to give this program a try and see if it could take me to where I needed to be.</p>
<p>To be sure, the program is intense and if you want results, or your old program isn&#8217;t working for you anymore, this is definitely one that will get your whole system started again. I didn&#8217;t need to worry about the word extreme, because the real emphasis is on core strength training. Cardio was important but almost secondary. The whole program puts the emphasis on the fact that it&#8217;s muscle that burns fat. If women are reading this, they don&#8217;t need to worry as you don&#8217;t bulk up on this program.</p>
<p>The program concentrates on three different phases. One is burning, next push and lastly lean. Basically what they do is concentrate on different muscle groups, and with an extra DVD that concentrates on specifically abs. This area is where most people need that little extra to get those abs into rock hard shape.</p>
<p>In burn you&#8217;re going to learn the foundation of the total program. You&#8217;ll be using weights as well as aerobics, and combining the two is what is going to get that body fat dropping off every area possible.</p>
<p>Lean takes you into reps. The weights will be heavier and you&#8217;ll start to combine upper body exercises with lower body ones. As you focus on different muscle groups you&#8217;re going to be doing a lot of repetitions.</p>

<p>One good thing about the program is, that if you are not in shape the program can be modified until you are up to doing it completely in step with Chalene. There are some in the cast that teach you how you can modify it to your own level and this makes it a lot easier. Once you&#8217;ve accomplished that stage then you can move up to the faster pace. Once you get started though it doesn&#8217;t take long before you are ready to keep up with everyone in the group.</p>
<p>One thing I hadn&#8217;t expected was the information I got on nutrition. The education I received about the role that nutrition plays in helping to fuel the body, and in helping you to lose the weight was invaluable. I really learned that it takes a combination of exercise and proper food and nutrition if you really want to see results. You&#8217;re not starving your body with this diet, in fact just the opposite. You will learn though what food will help your body and what ones are going to give you problems.</p>
<p>You can also expect Chalene to get you motivated and keep you that way. I&#8217;m not one of those rah rah people but she does have a way of getting through to you, and you have so much fun that the time just flies by. This is one program that does not let you get bored.</p>
<p>Overall I have to say I&#8217;m really impressed with this program. It&#8217;s easy enough for beginners to get started, and if you&#8217;re like me and looking to take it up to the next level then you&#8217;ll find it works, you have fun doing it and you will get the results you want.</p>
