Dealing with Injuries
The worst thing that can happen to you while working out is getting hurt! It throws a wrench in everything. Not only is it physical I sometimes feel that it is more of a mental handicap.
Why am I writing this? Well on Monday I tweaked my knee a bit during one of the workouts. Nothing to crazy, but there was some pain. The whole day I am thinking about the pain and also about should I work out tomorrow. Doing this fitness challenge has been tough and I want to make everyday count. So did I take a day off? Nope on Tuesday I did Pure Cardio and to my surprise my knee actually felt better.
No on Wednesday I decided to take the day off since it was the recovery workout which I really hated missing, but I figured lets give it a day and see. Today I just did cardio power and resistance and the knee felt good. Power jack and jumps are the moves that tweak my knee so I just subsituted. That is one of the thins you can do when you are hurt. Substitute moves. If you hurt your ankle or knee try to do upper body and vice versa.
I guess the main point I am trying to make here is that it is OK to take a day off and recover. Heck you might even needĀ a few days off. If you truly hurt something thenĀ you need to see a Doctor and working out is not going to help. If you take a few days off, then get back in it and just be a bit more cautious.
I tell ya my mornings are so much better after a workout! Was nice to get up at 7am on wednesday rather then 5:45AM
Keep on pushing people! Oh I am also looking forward to a phone call with Sean from Finally Fit Fitness Solutions http://personaltrainervancouver.net/
