Insanity Workout Issues

neck pain

So… I told you if you follow my posts you will hear me whine about me getting injured lol. Sure enough I totally tweaked something in my neck and back! I woke up wed morning and said to myself “self should I take a day off? should I do plyometric cardio circuit tonight?”

So I took the morning off and alas I did the cardio circuit last night at around 8pm. I have too say that working out at night is a lot easier. I always knew this, but getting it over with in the morning is so much better for me, but I do know that I am prone to more injury when working out in the morning especially doing the Insanity Workout!

Anyways working out last night was a lot easier. I had more energy and was looser. I could do the moves better and faster and the same moves that were hurting my knee on Sat morning did not bother me last night. I was able to actually get through the warm up with maybe a 5 sec break or two. I was able to really concentrate on my core the whole time. I can tell a difference because today my abs are a bit sore and that is a great thing! I want ABS!!! ;-)

Did I do cardio recovery today yet? Nope and I will try to get to it tonight. I woke up at 6am and it just wasn’t happening. I did get an extra hour of sleep and I felt totally refreshed. My neck and back are still tight, but I am making sure to put some heat on it and stretch out during the day.

So what do we learn from this folks? Well I think it goes to show that the Insanity workout is legit! It shows that you are going to work hard and you are going to feel some aches and pains. Most importantly it shows how much you need to get a good nights sleep!

Until next time!!!

Sorry you hurt yourself, man… Good to year that you’re feeling a bit better. You know, I’m sure the difficulty of the morning workout is being compounded by the cold on your muscles. Be extra careful stretching and such! Things have really caught up with me this week. Knees are sore, and abs are killing me. I think I’m landing to hard… know how Shaun is always telling you to absorb your impact, land soft?? I think I pushed a bit too hard on Monday’s Fit Test, but I was excited!!!

Some days it seems to be easier to get into it than others. I’m sure you’re having your moments of motivational lack too.
    Stick with it & GO!!!

Hah yea man gotta dig deep!! lol

What surface are you working out on? After I put down those pads it was a world of difference

That might have something to do with it too. We’re working in the basement… concrete. I do have a large 14 X 14 carpet that I put down for comfort… It’s thick, but there’s no padding underneath.
