Mental Roadblocks to getting in Shape
Just a quick post today.
Before, during and after this mornings workout I found myself lacking motivation here and there. At times I wanted to stop or would say ok I’ll stop after the next set. I didn’t stop and I am greatful for that. I feel great now.
The one thing that was buzzing in my head was that I don’t look any better. lol. My pants felt a bit looser so that was good, but I still see my gut and flab. So what gives? Well… as I look up at my workout calendar where I X off the days finished it occurs to me I have ONLY BEEN WORKING OUT FOR 2 WEEKS. Oh yea…. why would the last 6 months of eating crap and being lazy disappear so quickly.
I hope this makes sense to you. For me it was just a wake up call as I worked out and realized well… as Tony Horton says in P90X Chest & Back “Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was your body!”
So what does this all mean? It means there is a reason why this challenge is 90 days. It might just take that long to see the best results possible and that is good enough for me!
