My 90 Day Challenge Routine

Well I have been slacking on getting my routine up here, but I have been thinking about this in my head for the last month, so here goes it!

Pre 90 Day Fitness Challenge

I talk more here http://www.gettingstrongnow.com/first-workout/ about doing a few workouts before the challenge. If you have been out of shape, I highly recommend getting a few workouts in before sept 1.

  • For the next couple weeks I am just doing a few P90x workouts, a few insanity workouts, and some bike riding or whatever activity I might find to do. This is only a 2-3 times a week thing just to get my body better ready for the hard core 90 day challenge!

My 90 Day Fitness Challenge Routine

Again this is the routine I will be following, you can do any routine you like.

My overall routine is going to be a hybrid of P90x and the Insanity Workout. I will go into more details below about how I am going to split that up. There will also be extracuricular activities as well here and there. In the fall I play basketball, so there will most likely be 1 or 2 nights of playing basketball on top of the workouts. That is sure to burn off some extra fat!

Sept 2011 – I am actually starting that monday which is august 29th


OK so this is my P90x/Insanity hybrid workout. Ugh after I just filled it in, this looks tough, but I am pumped to get going!

October & November workout routine –

Well if this workout can’t help me shed a few pounds then I don’t know what will. The key will be to stay motivated and not miss workouts as well as eating clean which leads me to the next part of my routine.

THE DIET

What & how will I be eating during this?

Mainly I will be focusing on a Paleo Type diet, “There is a Pale Diet book which is great click here to get it!” which means eating more or less like a cave man lol. Yes I will be killing animals in the woods and eating them.. no not really. I will be focusing on eating lean meats, vegetables, nuts and fruits. Pretty much if it has been refined or processed I am going to try not and touch it! Does this mean I won’t be “cheating” or having pizza on friday nights? I will prob fit in a few cheat meals here and there and enjoy a Friday night pizza with the family, butttttt and this is a big buttttttt! Instead of having my normal 4 slices of pizza, few beers and them ice cream later, it will more likely be 2 maybe 3 slices of pizza, maybe 1 beer and def no ice cream ;-)

Now this isn’t to say I will never have goodies and all of that, but this is really to change my way of thinking of how I eat in general. A complete lifestyle change. The few times in my life where I really said OK I am going to eat so healthy were the times I felt the best. More energy, focus and overall motivation in everything I do. That’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

What about vitamins, supplements, protein shakes etc?

When you are working out hard like this you need to fuel your body. Eating healthy will get you half way there, but you need to use supplements. Replacing a meal or a snack with a protein shake or protein bar is a great way to get the extra protein your body will be needing. I am not sure which protein shakes I will be using, but most likely it will be the Jay Robb brand. They are a little bit more expensive then most shakes, but they taste great and have ingredients that I can pronounce ;-) In the past I have taken Lipo 6 fat burners. Click Here here to learn more about them at get the lowest price. They really give you the energy you need to get going. The thing with me is that I get up early to workout 5:30-6am ish. So really if I were to take them they may not “kick in” until half way through my workout, but anyways we shall see. You still get the fat burning benefits throughout the day while taking them, but of course check with your Doctor ;-) I will also be taking a Mens Multi Vitamin. I found a good one awhile back at Vitamin Shoppe, but I forget what it was called. I think any daily multivitamin will do.
