Rev Abs Review

Brett Hoebel is the creator of the RevAbs program, and is an expert in the industry of wellness and health. He’s well known for his TV show on the Discovery Channel called Fit Family, and has appeared on all the top morning shows in TV. Featured in some of the top magazines, he has also been awarded the “Best Of New York” twice by New York Magazine. His list of accomplishments are long, and suffice to say he’s probably the top trainer in the world today.

Knowing his background gave me a lot of confidence in his program and I decided it was time to get back into shape, so I gave his program a try. One of the first things I noticed with the program, beside his desire to see you succeed, is that this guy is very results oriented and knows that keeping you motivated is one of the keys to your success.

I started off with the nutrition guide, because as anyone knows, it’s not just exercise that will give you the body you want, but it’s a combination of food and exercise together that will make everything work in concert with each other. I learned so much from the nutrition book that I will never go back to some of my old eating habits. I now know what I was doing wrong in the foods I was choosing, and I’ve learned to eat the right foods to help me in burning off fat. Then when you combine that with the video exercises, I started to get the complete picture.

With this knowledge I was all set to start on the videos. I was concerned that it might be too hard for me, but those fears were quickly set aside, as it started with an easy warm up with good stretches. With little cardio in it, which was my biggest fear, the workout is all about working your abs, which is exactly what I wanted.

Much to my surprise there were also exercises to help strengthen my back, which has always been a trouble spot for me. This is a huge plus in this program. There’s also interval training as well as some other exercises, but overall it was a program that is completely doable no matter where you are in your fitness level.

The day after my first workout I could feel my abs aching, but a good ache as I realized it had already started working for me. I knew that every day that I did the program it would get easier each time. As my abs started to strengthen and get flatter and more toned I was pleased with the results. One of the great things about the video is you can set your own pace. For most people who are beginners, this is a great advantage. It allows you to gradually work up to the full program, and what a sense of accomplishment when you do get there.

One of the things I really liked with the videos is that there are members of the cast actually doing the moves and showing different modified variations. For those who can not do the exact moves due to physical limitations it gives them other options. Overall the program is exactly what I needed and I did get the results I wanted.

I’ll continue to use it to further my results and then use it as a maintenance program. I’ve changed my diet, so that it’s much healthier, and I’ve toned up and sculpted different areas of my body. My abs are definitely toned and starting to become ripped. In time if I keep up with my goals I expect to have an extreme ripped look to my abs. I give this program a 10+ for effectiveness.

Hi! Thanks so much for blogging! I have been trying to find someone that has done the Insanity program recently and it’s great to read of your experience. Great job hanging in there, BTW!

So I am trying to decide if I should get RevAbs or Insanity. Did you ever did the RevAbs program all the way through? Is it something that is a good stand-alone or is it just an enhancement like you seemed to use it?

    Thanks!

Hi Elisabeth that was actually one of my buddies reviews so I have never done the Rev abs but I can tell you that Insanity has been just that Insane!! lol

I honestly think either program will get your results, but it seems the Insanity workout is a bit more intense so depending on where you are in your fitness ,maybe Rev abs is better, maybe it is not.

Im thinking if I get through the 60 days of Insanity I am moving onto P90x, but lets take it one day at a time hehe.

Thanks for the quick review! I am currently in round 2 of Insanity and while I love Shaun T, I’m looking to add in some targeted ab work (minus the dancey stuff – I’m a dancer and those DVD programs bore me).

Elizabeth – I highly recommend Insanity! I’ve never sworn so much under my breath, and yet was secretly smiling to myself the entire time. :)

Hey Samantha! I am on my 2nd week of round 2 on Insanity and its kicking my butt all over again. On thing I am doing is adding in Ab Ripper X from P90X. I am doing it Mon/WEd/Fri
Also Insane Abs is pretty insane. If you can get a hold of Ab Ripper X you will be on your way to some sick abs. My upper abs are really getting shaped nice. The lower abs are there, its just up to my diet for them to be seen ;-)
