Snow Storms, Power Outages, Bronchitis… Oh My!
WHAT!! You might be saying…. Well it is true. I am not one for excuses, but man I sure seem to have had a decent amount of them over this 90 day challenge. I guess the real question is how to cope with things that come up right? Because life is a constant challenge, not just 90 days of doing something. Let me just talk about what has happened over the last two weeks then I will get into a few more things!
First we had this crazy October snow storm. I am in New Jersey… So my area lost power for just about 5 days. If you remember when this challenge started we had hurricane Irene and lost power as well. Anyways we had our generator which helped tremendously, but it was pretty frikkin cold in my garage. I came out one day to workout and it was 34 degrees in there. I got through the workout , but that is where things went even more down hill.
So turns out we eventually get our power back, but I am sick as a dog with a double ear infection and bronchitis!! Arghh.I was really out of it. I could not do much expect lie in bed and eat lol. Yeah man… I went overboard with the eating. What a shame. I was just eating whatever. It is amazing how you can workout for 2 months and then watch it all go bye bye in two weeks.Fat coming back.. just feeling crappier etc…. I guess that is my biggest problem. I will go from super workout out dude eating super clean to super lazy dude eating whatever I want when I want how I want etc… This situation has been a learning experience mentally and physically.
I was mad because the 2 weeks I missed were a big turning point for me. There was the recovery week of Insanity which I was going to actually do a p90x/Insanity hybrid again so I could hit the weights a bit, then the 2nd week would be the start of the Insanity Max Workouts.
The Max Workouts is really where you can start to see the fat come off, and now I feel like I am starting it all back up again. I know that is not the case. Yes I know I added some fat back on, but I still feel so strong and even with some extra belly fat I can still see the shape of my abs lol. I tell ya one thing the Insanity Workout does is get your core strong and your abs popping out!
So… I have decided to add extra time onto the challenge and it will end Dec 10th.
I did the first Max Insanity Workout today and holy!!!! I thought about easing back into it with a few regular workouts, but said screw it. There was a lot of breaks today for sure and just maybe I fast forwarded about 10 minutes
It did not matter though, because I got an awesome workout and all the new moves was a welcomed change. With doing the same workouts it can get a bit boring so the Max workouts was great!
What a difference from doing nothing to working out again. Today I feel so much better and more energetic. I am more mentally charged to. Just knowing I dug deep and got that workout in makes for a great day.
The great thing about this break is that I am learning my patterns and how I really deal with things. I will write more about this in the final post after the challenge is over so I can put all my thoughts together in one place.
Till next time….
